The Gun Through the Wall
The pistol no longer goes straight through a wall at close range.
What: Pressing up against a wall with the pistol out put the barrel through it. The obvious fix was to notice the wall and raise the gun out of the way, so that was what I built. It fought itself. Raising the gun moved it clear of the wall, so the game decided there was no longer a wall to worry about and dropped the gun back into it, which put the wall back in the way. The arms shook about thirty times a second. The fix is to judge the wall by where the character is standing rather than by where the gun happens to be pointing. The character does not move when the gun comes up, so it stops arguing with itself. Two smaller things fell out of it. Raising the gun had been dragging the head around with it, so it only moves the arms and shoulders now. And there was a second, lower ready position that was never actually reachable in play, and it put the gun through the character's knees when crouching, so I cut it. One ready position, held high.
Why: A player forgives a lot in an unfinished game, but not a gun sliding through a solid wall.
